project description:

The food packing shift officially begins at 9:00am, but volunteers from this shift are asked to come early to help set up the tables, food, and equipment for the food packing assembly.

Volunteers will paricipate in an assembly line to fill and seal bags with rice, dried vegetables, crushed soy, and chicken-flavored vitamin and mineral powder. Northside will pack 60,000 nutritionally formulated meals that will be shipped to Haiti.  Meet in the Centrum at Northside CC.  This event will occur in hour and a half shifts.

about this mission:

LifeLine Christian Mission packs meals that have been formulated by food scientists to provide a rich source of easily digestible protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins needed by a malnourished child's body and mind. The meals offer all nine of the essential amino acids required for complete nutrition, are easy to package, keep for long periods, and require only boiling with water. Despite the simplicity of the food's content, it is a nutritionally complex and well balanced meal.

LifeLine will distribute these meals to kids and families in desperate need of food and nutrition.  You can visit their website at www.lifeline.org.
