project description:

Volunteers needed to help watch and care for special needs children and their siblings so their parents can enjoy an evening of rest and relaxation.

A Respite Night is an evening of rest for parents of special needs children. Respite is temporary relief care designed for families of children with special needs.

about this mission:

H.I.S. Kidz is a ministry primarily to serve individuals with special needs. H stands for hope, I stands for inclusion, and S stands for support. Our goal is to meet families where they are in regards to Jesus as well as support them in strengthening that relationship. This event allows us to support the parents in a night of rest and relaxation that might not otherwise be available to them.

what to bring:

Blanket/Sleeping Bag, wear pajamas (red ServeDay Shirt) or comfy clothes

The theme is camping... We will have games, crafts, snacks, and a movie to coincide with the theme. We have extended the time to incorporate the movie

As a volunteer, you will arrive at 5:45p and go through a short training. The kids will begin to arrive at 6:30p and will stay until 8:30p.

If available, we may ask a few volunteers to stay and help clean up after the event.
